Duck hunter suffers minor gunshot wound

CHIPPEWA FALLS - A duck hunter suffered a minor gunshot wound in a hunting accident Saturday afternoon on the Chippewa River in the town of Wheaton.

Shawn Larson, 26, Eau Claire, was struck in the wrist by a single shotgun BB when a fellow hunter's gun accidentally discharged.

Jeremiah Barta, 25, Elk Mound, was hunting from a separate canoe when his gun accidentally discharged as he was loading it. The shot hit Larson and also went through the front of the canoe that Barta was in.

Larson was treated at Mayo Health System in Eau Claire.
