WALKER, Minn. - A Sartell man was found dead Sunday morning while
deer hunting in Beulah Township.
The Cass County Sheriff's Office says it appeared the 51-year-old
man's gun fired a fatal shot after he fell from his deer stand.
The death remains under investigation.
It is unknown when the apparent accident happened. Authorities
were sent to search the area after receiving a report of a missing
hunter in the area.
The victim's name is being withheld in order to notify family
members.
It is the third reported death from the weekend's deer hunting
opener.
An 84-year-old Maple Grove man died Saturday morning when his
clothing caught fire near Hibbing.
A 72-year-old hunter from St. Paul died when he fell from his
deer stand in Beltrami County.
