Steamboat Springs, Colo. — Rescuers say an injured hunter is
lucky to be alive after he was rescued from a steep cliff in a box
canyon near Steamboat Springs.
Rescuers say the man and a companion tried to climb down a
600-foot cliff without climbing equipment, even though it was
covered by snow and ice. One man fell and broke his wrist and the
other notified relatives on Sunday.
Incident Commander Kristia Check-Hill told Steamboat Today
(http://bit.ly/rMEDx7 ) it was remarkable that the men made it to
safety.
The hunters were not identified.
