Marlboro County man hospitalized after hunting accident

A man is in the hospital after officers say his rifle exploded in his face while he was hunting.

The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources www.dnr.sc.gov/ says the accident happened on Brickyard Road in Marlboro County Wednesday afternoon.

They say the 59-year-old had to be airlifted to a hospital in Charlotte.

DNR says he fractured his jaw and cheek bones.
