STRASBURG, Colo. -- A 10-year old boy hunting at the
private Bluffs club was shot with a blast of bird shot from another
hunters shotgun about 40 miles east of Denver.
The youngster was in a party that included three adults, another
youth and hunting guide from the club.
"We just know that the boy was shot in his right side between his
knees and neck," said Michelle Timm of the Adams County Sheriff's
Department. "An adult tried to drive the boy to a Denver hospital,
but the 911 operator was able to prompt them to stop and wait for an
ambluance that had been dispatched."
The EMT's met up with the driver and injured boy in Strasburg
where the boy was taken to a Denver-area hospital.
Authorities say he suffered superficial wounds that were not life
threatening.
