GREENWOOD, S.C. -- A 47-year-old man who went hunting Monday was
found dead Tuesday morning by his friends, Greenwood County Coroner
Jim Coursey said.
Coursey said Gregory Russell Hall, of Long Pine Court in
Simpsonville, had been hunting near Alder Road in Donalds. He said
that on Monday night, Hall had stayed in a deer stand he had put up,
while the others slept in a car.
They said they tried to call Hall all night, but were unable to
reach him, so at daybreak they went to look for him.
Coursey said Hall was lying on the ground under the tree. He said
Hall had some head trauma, but an autopsy and toxicology tests will
be performed Wednesday morning in Anderson to determine how he died.
No foul play is suspected at this time, according to
investigators.
