Another hunter was injured today when he fell from a tree stand
in Leicester, Livingston County.
State Police in Canandaigua said Robert Miller, 70, of Portville,
Cattaraugus County fell about 15 feet from a stand behind a home on
New Road. An ambulance took him to Strong Memorial Hospital, where
he was treated for broken ribs, a punctured lung and a cut to his
face.
An investigation showed that Miller did not secure a safety strap
on the stand and fell after shooting at a deer, said State Police
Sgt. Jason Haag.
