BARKHAMSTED -- A hunter was injured after falling out of a tree
stand Friday afternoon.
Ambulance crews were dispatched to 21 Legeyt Road at 1:32 p.m. to
assist the injured man who had fallen about 20 feet. Emergency
dispatchers said the victim was able to make his way to the house on
foot after the fall, and the extent of his injuries was not
immediately clear. Police and firefighters did not respond, and
ambulance personnel declined to provide additional information,
citing medical privacy laws. The injured hunter was transported to
Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington and was met there by the
Life Star helicopter for transport to a Hartford-area hospital.
