A Morehead chiropractor and a Winchester man are dead as a result
of weekend deer hunting accidents in Bath County.
Kenneth W. Eades, Jr., 57, of Winchester, died Saturday night at
St. Claire Regional Medical Center after his ATV struck a metal gate
in the Daniel Boone National Forest, also near Salt Lick.
Rowan County Coroner John P. Northcutt said Eades was exiting the
woods after deer hunting when his four-wheeler struck the gate on
White Sulphur Forestry Road.
The accident happened about 5:45 p.m. and Eades was pronounced
dead of blunt force trauma at 7:17 p.m. at the hospital.
The case remains under investigation by Northcut and Bath County
Deputy Sheriff Johnny Botts.
