BATH — According to the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, Robert
A. Connis was hunting Saturday on Round Lake Road with five other
people. While hunting, Connis shot himself in the foot when a
shotgun leaning against a pickup began to fall over and discharged,
deputies said.
Connis, 30, of West Lamoka Avenue, Savona,
was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a
class A misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in jail. He was
charged because he is a convicted felon and was in possession of a
firearm. Connis served prison time for attempted forgery.
