ST. ANTHONY, Ind. —

A 15-year-old French Lick boy has died after being shot while deer hunting in southern Indiana, The Evansville Courier & Press reported.

Nicholas Messmer of French Lick was wounded while hunting with a family member Sunday afternoon near St. Anthony, a community in DuBois County.
Officers told the newspaper that a gun was apparently being lowered from a tree stand when it went off, wounding the teen in the abdomen.
