Kyle Murray headed into the woods at Blackwater River State
Forest just before daybreak last Friday, eager to bag a deer.
After climbing onto his tree stand, he settled down to wait. A
short time later, Murray dozed off and fell 25 feet to the ground.
The Fort Walton Beach man lay there for three hours before his
hunting partner found him. The fall severed his spine, broke nine
ribs and left him paralyzed from the waist down.
Six days later, the 31-year-old father of two is recuperating in
Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola.
