LAKE PLACID — LAKE PLACID — A three-day search for Russ Beede
ended sadly Wednesday.
The life-long resident of Keene and Lake Placid was found dead by
search-and-rescue crews around 2:30 p.m. about a half-mile from
where he parked his truck Saturday morning.
He had gone into the woods, hunting off South Meadow Road — a
popular deer hunting spot among locals.
“It’s a wilderness area, rugged terrain,” said New York State
Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation Capt. Robert LaFountain of
the spot where Beede, 63, was found in the intensive search.
