GERMAN FLATTS, N.Y. (WKTV) - State Police announced Wednesday
that an Ilion man was sent to the hospital following a hunting
accident in German Flatts earlier this month.
According to New York State Police, on November 19, Thomas M.
Vibbard, 59, of Ilion was located in a field off of Mortz Road with
a gunshot wound to his upper thigh, after being accidentally shot by
a fellow hunter.
Authorities said it was unclear if that fellow hunter was hunting
with Vibbard or in the woods at the same time.
Vibbard was treated at the scene and sent to St. Elizabeth
Medical Center in Utica for non-life threatening injuries.
The case is currently under investigation.
