The man left a round in the chamber, and it discharged as he got
into his truck, state police said.
York, PA - A Felton man accidentally shot himself in the leg
while hunting in Hopewell Township this week, State Police said.
David Fletcher, 53, of Cool Creek Road, was getting back into his
truck in the 9500 block of Church Road on Wednesday when his gun
went off, said Trooper Michele Davis, state police spokeswoman.
Fletcher had left a round loaded in the chamber. The bullet
struck him in the leg and exited through the car door, Davis said.
The man was taken to York Hospital for treatment. The
Pennsylvania Game Commission assisted with the response.
