SHELDON, N.Y. — A 16-year-old Wyoming County boy has been shot
while hunting with friends.
The Wyoming County Sheriff's office says the boy was hunting
coyotes with two friends in Sheldon, 25 miles southeast of Buffalo,
shortly after noon on Friday. The victim was in a tree when he was
hit in his side from about five to 10 feet away when a friend's
rifle accidentally discharged.
The boy was taken by Mercy Flight helicopter to Erie County
Medical Center where he underwent emergency surgery. No names or
other details were released.
