December 30, 2011

From ChicagoTribune.com

DELHI, Iowa—
Officials say a Dubuque deer hunter has been injured when he was shot in the leg while hunting in Delaware County.

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says in a news release that 53-year-old Kenneth Leslein was hunting near the Maquoketa River Friday morning when he slipped and the pistol he was using went off, shooting him in the leg.

He was taken to a local hospital and later transferred to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Officials say his injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.
