DELHI, Iowa—
Officials say a Dubuque deer hunter has been injured when he was
shot in the leg while hunting in Delaware County.
The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says in a news release
that 53-year-old Kenneth Leslein was hunting near the Maquoketa
River Friday morning when he slipped and the pistol he was using
went off, shooting him in the leg.
He was taken to a local hospital and later transferred to
University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
Officials say his injuries are believed to be non-life
threatening.
