An Addison man was hospitalized Thursday after mishandling a
handgun and shooting himself while hunting in Lee County.
Alfred S. Grigori, 43, was being treated at KSB Hospital in Dixon
for an injury that was not life-threatening, according to a news
release from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
The release said Grigori was hunting in the Lost Nation area at
about 8:30 a.m. Thursday when he mishandled his handgun, resulting
in a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his upper body. No other
details were released.
The incident remains under investigation by the Illinois
Conservation Police. The Lee County Sheriff's Department assisted
with the case.
