BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WECT) – A 21-year-old man was shot while deer
hunting outside of Clarkton on Monday.
Wesley White was struck while hunting with a club of 10-15 people
off Twisted Hickory Road around 10:50 a.m., according to Officer CP
White with the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission.
The shooter, a 16-year-old female whose name is not being
released, was approximately 100 yards away from White and had
limited visibility. A deer reportedly ran across the shooter’s path
and she fired twice, hitting White in his right thigh.
White was treated for his injuries and released. The incident is
