PLATTSMOUTH, Neb. -- Authorities said a Bellevue man accidentally
shot another man while hunting raccoons outside of Plattsmouth.
The Cass County Sheriff's Office said Michael Galbreath, of
Missouri, was shot in the back near 18th Street and Ashland Road on
Friday night.
Deputies said Vernon Holden was carrying a handgun that went off
when the pair tried catching a wounded raccoon.
Galbreath was flown to the Nebraska Medical Center. His condition
has not been made public.
Holden was cited for not having a valid hunting permit.
