A Harlan man died Tuesday evening after falling from a tree stand
while hunting in Monona County.
Corey Custer, 21, fell from the stand while exiting at 7 p.m.,
according to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. Custer fell
an estimated 18 to 23 feet while bow hunting for deer.
He suffered head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene,
the department said.
