BOULEVARD (CNS) - The body of a hunter who went missing in rough
terrain near Boulevard was discovered Monday, authorities said.
Richard Bradley Smith became separated from his party about 5
p.m. Sunday in the Lark Canyon area near McCain Valley Road in rural
East County, according to sheriff's Lt. David Gilmore.
Search and rescue teams searched the area with the help of a
helicopter Sunday evening but failed to find the San Diego resident,
Gilmore said. He said the search resumed this morning and Smith's
body was found about 8:15 a.m.
A cause of death determination was pending from the San Diego
County Medical Examiner's Office, which listed Smith as either 61 or
62 years old.
