UT: Emery sheriff: Hunter likely died from fall off horse
October 11, 2012
By Bob Mims, SlTrib.com
A hunter found dead in a remote area of Emery County is believed
to have died after being thrown from his horse, the Emery County
Sheriff’s Office said Thursday. Sheriff’s Capt. Jeff Thomas
said Ken Moosman, 64, was found dead in the steep, rugged terrain of
Manti-La Sal National Forest east of Ephraim about 1 p.m.
Tuesday. Moosman’s family had reported him overdue Monday
night from a hunting trip. Search and rescue personnel on
horseback and on foot found Moosman’s body in Upper Joe’s Valley.
They also found his horse nearby, still saddled and tangled in
brush.
