DILLON — A Superior man was killed Sunday while hunting near
Dillon when he was hit by a stray bullet in an apparent accident,
County Sheriff Jay Hansen said in a press release.
Edward
Anderson, 56, was out with his father-in-law Sunday morning and did
not return to their vehicle by noon, as planned. Anderson was found
dead by Hansen after a search was begun that evening, the sheriff
said. The two were hunting in the Black Mountain area west of
Dillon.
Hansen investigated the incident and found that
Anderson had died from a single gunshot wound to the chest. He found
that the bullet could not have come from Anderson’s gun and was not
from anyone in his party.
