ELLISBURG — One man suffered gunshot wounds and another man was
arrested on a weapons charge in a hunting accident Saturday morning
in a wooded area off Woodpecker Lane, according to police.
The victim was taken by helicopter to Upstate Medical University,
Syracuse.
Deputies charged Gerald D. Wells Jr., 40, of
Hannibal, with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon at 8
a.m. Saturday. He is accused of possessing a firearm, a CVA muzzle
loader, while on probation. He is to appear in Ellisburg Town Court.
