Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating a hunting
accident that occurred in southeastern Tippecanoe County late Monday
night.
Christopher W. Rowe, 20, of Lafayette, was
transported to IU Arnett Hospital in Lafayette after he sustained a
single gunshot wound to the leg.
Rowe and another individual
were standing on opposite sides of an old garage door panel next to
a barn after their dog had led them to that location.
One
individual in the party was lifting the garage door panel while
Myles P. Hunley, 22, of Lafayette shot three times with a .22 rifle
at an opossum that was hiding under the panel.
One of the
bullets ricocheted off the ground and into Rowe’s leg.
