NY: Dunkirk men rescued during hunting mishap

November 19, 2012

From BuffaloNews.com

STOCKTON – Brian Meyer, 55, and his son, Patrick Meyer, 20, both of Dunkirk, began deer hunting on Chautauqua Road and eventually lost their bearings, ending up in a swamp at the edge of Bear Lake about 2 p.m., deputies said.

The pair became stuck in the mud and water and called for help from a mobile phone. The rescue was complicated by mud and trees, authorities said.

Brian Meyer was taken by ambulance to Brooks Hospital for treatment of hypothermia. His son was treated at the scene and released.
