NY: Man thought hunting partner was a deer

November 21, 2012

From WPTZ.com

Authorities have released the name of the upstate New York man who was fatally shot by his hunting partner in the Hudson Valley woods.

Police in the Orange County town of Newburgh tell the Times Herald-Record of Middletown that 48-year-old Timothy Evans was shot in the back of his shoulder while hunting with Guy Wensley.

Officials say Wensley told police the two men had separated while deer hunting Monday. Wensley says late that afternoon, he fired at what he thought was a deer and heard Evans yell.
