NY: Former South Western coach, teacher back on track after hunting accident

May 1, 2013

From EveningSun.com

It was just November 24, the time of year when the ground is still muddy in spots and the foreboding sting of winter starts to appear.

As 27-year-old Joe Kuhns walked down the wet slope, he fell down that hill, 30/30 rifle in tow. As he tumbled, the safety disengaged.

Kuhns felt the searing bullet rip through his left foot, entering just beneath the ankle bone and exiting out the bottom.
