MO: Missouri Deer Hunter Killed After Falling into Sinkhole

A Marine died while deer hunting in the rural country of Pulaski County, Missouri when he fell into a sinkhole. Curtis Powelson, 31, was bowhunting near his home north of the Buckhorn area when the accident occurred.
 
He phoned his wife shortly before dusk to inform her that he had shot a deer and was going to track the animal. Powelson’s wife contacted the authorities when he failed to return home.
