October 9, 2013

From OurMidland.com

A 52-year-old Lee Township man died in a hunting accident Tuesday evening on state land off West Olson Road.
Edward Planer was found underneath his tree stand by family members who went looking for him after he failed to return after dark, the Midland County Sheriff’s Office reports. He had headed out to his tree stand, which was about 30 feet up, in the 250 block of West Olson Road at 5:30 p.m. He was found about 9:40 p.m.
The sheriff’s office investigation indicates Planer fell from his tree stand and died as a result of his injuries. An autopsy is planned for later today to determine the exact cause of death. The case remains under investigation pending autopsy results.
