OR: 90-year-old hunter rescued south of Eugene

November 1, 2013

From RegisterGuard.com

A 90-year-old man who became trapped in heavy brush while hunting Thursday on private land southwest of Eugene is in good condition after receiving medical treatment.

Rudy Rothauge had not returned as expected from a solo hunting trip on a 75-acre parcel of timber land off Simonsen Road.

A family member made voice contact with Rothauge at 10 p.m., and a search team later rescued Rothauge after finding he had been unable to walk or remove himself from an area of heavy brush, officials said.
