TN: Hunter shot with crossbow dies

January 2, 2014

From WBIR.com

A deer hunter from Greenback has died after he was shot in the head with a crossbow.

William Nathan Norris, 37, was deer hunting with a partner on private property along Highway 411 in Greenback when the accident happened Wednesday afternoon, Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency officers reported.

Norris crossed a fence ahead of his hunting partner and the crossbow discharged, hitting Norris in the head.

Initial reports from TWRA indicated that Norris was carrying the crossbow when the arrow discharged, but investigators now say Norris' hunting partner was carrying the bow.
