GA: SGA student drowns in duck hunting accident

17-year-old Matthew Jernigan’s body was recovered around 5 p.m. Tuesday near where he and two Southwest Georgia Academy classmates’ boat sank while duck hunting Tuesday morning.

Payson Trawick and Thomas Vines were able to swim to a nearby island and called 911 after the boat sank.

They were reportedly picked up by boat and taken by ambulance to Donalsonville Hospital.
