MN: Teens from Virginia Save Friend During Duck Hunting Trip

May 9, 2017

The trio of teens from Virginia had gone duck hunting together in October, 2016.

The boat was in the water at West Two Rivers, and the gear was nearly packed. But then, John Marcella heard a splash.

He ran to where Cody Herrmann had been standing and found him floating, face down.

Dragging him out was difficult, since Cody's waders had filled with water, so he was very heavy.

Cody started coughing up water. Both law enforcement and an ambulance showed up, and brought Cody to the Essentia Health Virginia. He was in the hospital for less than a day. The junior has epilepsy, and had suffered a seizure.
