One Hunting Fatality Reported in Grant County

The annual gun-deer season got off to a deadly start in
Grant County. According to officials, a 60-year-old hunter was killed on
Sunday near Lancaster. The Department of Natural Resources was investigating
the fatality, but did not release any information on the case as of last
Meanwhile, four other minor hunting incidents were
reported over the season's opening weekend, one each in Adams, Crawford,
Dunn and Vilas counties.
Last year, the DNR reported three fatalities during the
entire nine-day deer season.
