Safe Hunting?

Two Duck Hunters Injured

25 November 2003

Two men are injured in a hunting accident in Posey County Tuesday morning.

It happened just before six at Hovey Lake. Indiana conservation officers say 55-year-old Patrick McCartney of Fort Wayne stepped into a duck blind, causing it to overturn. McCartney was taken to St. Mary's Medical Center suffering from hypothermia. 71-year- old Ralph Glassman of South Bend was also in the blind, and was Lifeflighted to St. Mary's with water in his lungs and hypothermia. He is in critical condition.

Conservation officials are still trying to determine what caused the blind to tip over.
