Hunting Accident Sends Local Man To The Hospital

A Lake City man is in intensive care, after being shot Tuesday morning in a hunting accident.

Gerald Donald Weaver, 36, of Lake City was shot in the hip in the woods near Miller and Tannery roads.

It took some time for rescue crews and fellow hunters to get the victim to a place that was safe to load him into the Lifestar helicopter.

The victim was transported to Hamot Medical Center.
