HEBER SPRINGS, AR - Officials say a 14-year-old boy is
dead in a hunting accident. The state Game & Fish Commission says the boy's
father shot him when he mistook his son for a buck on a hillside on private
land near Heber Springs.
Brady Galloway died Sunday as his father, 47-year-old Gary
Galloway, held him in his arms.
Arkansas Game & Fish Commission spokeswoman Nancy
Ledbetter says the boy bled to death before help could arrive.
The elder Galloway fired a seven-millimeter magnum from
about 150 yards away. Ledbetter says the boy was hit once in the buttocks
and the bullet went through his upper thigh.
She said neither father nor son were wearing the required
hunter's orange.
