OWASCO, N.Y. -- A 20-year-old hunter died after his
shotgun discharged while hunting in a wooded area, wounding him in the head,
Kyle Kent was taken to Auburn Memorial Hospital Saturday,
where he was pronounced dead, said Cayuga County Sheriff Rob Outhouse.
The shooting happened a day after another hunter was hurt
while hunting in the same woods about 20 miles southwest of Syracuse. David
Iocolano suffered a flesh wound from a 12-gauge shotgun while hunting with
four other people.
Both shootings were being treated as accidents, Outhouse
Kent was hunting with a group of 12 friends, trying to
track a deer the hunters had wounded earlier. Kent's shotgun discharged,
wounding him in the head, Outhouse said.
