Man found dead in Broadkill River
MILTON, Del. (AP) -
Authorities say a 73-year-old Milton man was found dead in the Broadkill
River tonight. Lieutenant Aaron Hurd of the Department of Natural Resources
and Environmental Control's Fish and Wildlife Enforcement unit says Bob
Phillips, of Milton, was a trapper and his daughter reported him missing
around 4:45 p-m when he was overdue getting home.
Hurd says a friend of the family found Phillips' pickup truck near a boat
landing near the river and called rescuers.
The Milton Fire Department found Phillips and his boat at 6:30 p-m in the
river.
Hurd says it's not known if Phillips died from a medical condition or if
he drowned. His body was turned over to the state Medical Examiner.
