TrappingMN: Dog caught in trap
February 18, 2010
Assist animal. A woman called police to report that a dog was
caught in a leg trap set for a coyote in the 1700 block of 130th Avenue NE.
An officer assisted the dog's owner with removing the dog from the trap. The
dog's leg was bloody and the animal was taken to a veterinarian for
examination. According to police reports, a short time later a man arrived
and said he had placed the traps for the homeowner and that he would take
responsibility. He was issued a citation for a violation of the city's
trapping prohibitions. The homeowner could not be reached, but the officer
left a note for the homeowner to call.
