Two Charged with Illegal Hunting
From the Star-Ledger (NJ) Wednesday, 1/14/04
Police arrested two people and charged them with illegally
hunting on private property along Chapin Road over the weekend, authorities
said.
Michael Fornelius, 26, of Elmwood Park was arrested on
weapons charges, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of
prescription drugs, said Captain Ed Rosellini of Montville.
Fornelius' companion, Dawn X, 32 of Pine Brook
was charged with unlawful possession of weapons.
Police originally were called to the area on a report of
children playing on ice, Rosellini said. When they got there, a pedestrian
waved them down and said she thought she saw two people hunting in back of
Champion Mortgage.
The two were baiting and shooting deer, Rosellini said.
They had two shotguns and a rifle
Dawn X received a summons and was released, but
Fornelius was incarcerated at the Morris County Jail in lieu of $25,000
bail, Rosellini said.
Fornelius remained at the jail yesterday afternoon, but
was expected to be released .
