Anchorage, Alaska - From forfeiting snowmachines to paying up to
$5,000 in fines, Alaska State Troopers say four Alaskans will face
serious penalties for illegally hunting musk ox during the closed
season.
Fifty-one-year-old Norman Joe of Chevak as well as 38-year-old
Patrick Hale, 29-year-old Julius Bell and 51-year-old George Nanuk of
Hooper Bay each face charges ranging from hunting musk ox during the off
season, unlawful possession, to using a .22-caliber rifle to hunt for
big game.
Each man also faces one year of probation for the hunt.
