BILLINGS, Mont. -- A Florida man has to pay $3,000 in fines and
another $3,000 in restitution for illegally hunting on a Montana ranch.
Frederick Long of Kissimmee will also serve three years probation. He
has pleaded guilty to transporting parts of three mule deer bucks from
Montana to Florida four years ago.
Police say a former Montana deputy has admitted to helping Long and
another Florida man move the killed deer. The deputy was paid $500 to
serve as their hunting guide.
The other Florida hunter was James Lane of Plant City. He died in a
boat crash before he could be arraigned.
