ROSEBURG: A Roseburg man was arrested Friday after allegedly hunting
at night with a light.
Oregon State Police troopers observed Eric B. Ponder, 35, and
passenger Craig L. Flitcroft, 34, spotlighting in the South Deer Creek
area from their pickup near midnight Friday, according to an Oregon
State Police report. Troopers also found a rifle and ammunition in the
pickup, and found Ponder was suspended from driving for fourth-degree
assault.
Ponder was arrested on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a
firearm and driving while suspended. He also was arrested for a warrant
in Roseburg for being a felon in possession of a firearm and a warrant
in Josephine County for driving under the influence of intoxicants and
reckless driving. He is lodged in the Douglas County Jail.
Flitcroft was cited for casting a light while armed.
