IA - Six charged with hunting violations

ATLANTIC - As a result of an investigation by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources and with the cooperation of the Iowa State Patrol, five individuals from Harlan and one from Elk Horn have been charged with numerous Iowa DNR hunting violations and other related criminal offenses that are alleged to have occurred on or about November 24, 2006 in Cass County.

Of those charged Aaron D. Holtz and Bradley E. Wendt are officers of the Harlan Police Department and Kent A. Gries is an officer with the Coon Rapids Police Department.

According to Daniel L. Feistner, Cass County Attorney those individuals and charges filed include:

Daniel J- Grabill, Harlan, Iowa
(1) Pursuing Deer with a Motor Vehicle, a Simple Misdemeanor in violation of Iowa Code Section 481A.38
(2) Trespass, a Simple Misdemeanor in violation of Iowa Code Section 716.7

Dustin A. Hansen, Harlan, Iowa
(1) Pursuing Deer with a Motor Vehicle, a Simple Misdemeanor in violation of Iowa Code Section 481A.38

Appearance dates have been scheduled for all individuals cited. Additional charges are expected to be filed by the Iowa DNR in Adair County, Iowa.
