Barbour County Man Pleads Guilty to Hunting Charges

PHILIPPI -- A Barbour County man has pleaded guilty to a variety of
illegal deer hunting charges.
State Division of Natural Resources conservation officers say
37-year-old Lawrence Gillis of Moatsville was hunting deer out of
season.
The charges include two counts of illegal possession of deer meat,
two counts of failure to check in deer, one count of hunting after
legally killing a deer the same day, one count of illegal deer kill and
one count of failure to field tag a deer. Gillis was arrested after
officers caught him returning from a hunt on an all-terrain vehicle.
