A Maryland man is suing a fellow hunter after being shot while pheasant hunting near Conde, according to a new federal lawsuit.

Howard K. Wines of Hagerstown, Md., was hit with 19 shotgun pellets in the arms, legs, hands and torso during the October 2005 hunt, according to the lawsuit filed last week in U.S. District Court in Sioux Falls.

Adam Whitehill of Jordan, Minn., is the defendant in the lawsuit, which seeks more than $20,000 in damages.
