ME: Park Ranger Accused of Night Hunting
Park Ranger Accused of Night Hunting
September 24, 2008
An assistant Allagash wilderness waterway park ranger accused of
hunting moose at night and out of season has been placed on paid
administrative leave.
Reid Caron of Allagash is one of two people scheduled to appear in
court in December to answer to those charges. Authorities say the other
man charged is Jess McBrearty of Allagash.
Caron has been a park ranger for about seven years. Authorities say
Caron told them he was having a hard time getting by so he and his
friend went to get some moose meat.
McBrearty faces additional charges including shooting from a vehicle
and growing marijuana.
